The Middle England Classic Vehicle Club, now better known by its abbreviated name M-ECVC, is an ACU affiliated club established by the current Chairman Bernie (Maddog) Pugh in order to run the Durham Dales Classic Trial, the first of which took place in 2014.

Since that event the Club has organised many successful Long Distance Trials and developed its own style to provide riders, on a mixture of classic, modern and shed built bikes, with a sociable days riding on the quiet roads, byways and private tracks of the North East. Sections are challenging, but the Club tries to set them at a level that avoids damage to bike or rider.

The Durham Dales is the M-ECVC's premier Long Distance Trial (LDT) event and continues to be run annually in March.

Our mission is to have fun riding bikes off road whilst raising funds for charity. We believe in riding green lanes slowly to enjoy the scenery, responsibly to ensure we maintain access and are able to share them with other users. Many Club members are also walkers, cyclists and horse owners.
